Slush Machine Not Freezing One Side

A slush machine not freezing on one side is a common problem that’s usually easily fixed.

Symptoms:

Slush Machine not freezing at all on one side, but other side(s) are freezing fine?

This means the solenoid coil which controls the flow of gas is faulty. You will need to source a replacement coil. This is where your slush machine supplier comes in. Read here about the importance of buying your slush machine from a trusted supplier.

If you’re not in contact with the original slush machine supplier, all is not necessarily lost, hopefully you can find a compatible Solenoid Coil elsewhere. Make sure the replacement coil is the right one, the coil specifications should be printed on the side of the coil. Remove the old coil and match up the exact specs as printed, anything else won’t work. Amazon sell a good range of coils to search through. Finding the right coil can be more difficult for Chinese made machines, good luck.

1. Fitting a new coil.

Most slush machines have a similar layout inside where the working parts are housed. Snowshock’s guide to Replacing a Coil is a good place to start and will probably help you on your way. This guide is for qualified professionals only. Watch the video here.

Slush machine not freezing very well on one side!

This is usually one of three potential problems:

1 . The air intake is blocked

Behind one of the slush machines side panels, you will find the condenser, this looks a little like a car radiator. When this gets blocked with dust freezing performance will decrease and one bowl of the slush machine will typically be affected first. Brush out the dust or if there is a filter over the condenser, clean that and replace it. You should see the machine return to normal. This helpful video shows you how.

2. The slush mix is the wrong dilution or is poor quality

The wrong dilution of the slush syrup will cause problems with freezing.

3. The freeze setting needs adjustment

Slush freeze settings on slush machines need to be adjusted from time to time. Especially if the recipe has changed or the temperature in the room changes a lot. Most slush machines have similar adjustment functions as Snowshock machines, this video shows how to make adjustments.
